Beyond definitions

We present you with the DIVETOUR2 Glossary: “Words to think with”.
The Glossary starts from a simple idea: the meaning of words is the foundation of clear, thoughtful communication. This is why, as a companion to the course, we offer a closer look at the meaning of some of the recurring terms and expressions. The terms were chosen for their power to spark independent reflection and classroom debate. Each entry includes a definition and a section that takes it further. Some entries are also enriched with external resources to encourage further exploration.

Note on AI terms – Many of the terms in this glossary are in English. The vocabulary of artificial intelligence originates in English and, in that form, imposes itself on other languages. We have kept these terms in English because they are the ones our students will meet at work; but we invite you all to stop and consider them, and to notice how, when we translate them into our mother tongue, we grasp their nuances, their light and shade more fully.
